Summary: a time zone converter that is free and private
A time zone converter shows what the clock reads in other places at a given moment. Enter a date and time and their zone, and this one shows the converted time, date, UTC offset and hour difference for up to six cities, with daylight saving applied for that date. A World Clock beside it shows the current time in major cities. It runs in your browser, nothing is uploaded (you can check the Network tab in DevTools), and there is no sign-up.
Every zone is an offset from Coordinated Universal Time (UTC): 9:00 in New York at UTC−4 is 13:00 UTC, which is 22:00 in Tokyo at UTC+9.

Features
- Date and Time start at the current time in your own zone; Use current time resets them.
- From Time Zone lists 38 major cities plus UTC under Major cities, then every other IANA zone your browser reports under All time zones.
- Compare Zones holds up to six cities, starting with London, Tokyo and Dubai, and handles offsets such as +5:30.
- Daylight saving is applied for the chosen date, and a time that does not exist is moved forward with a notice.
- A 24-hour clock checkbox, Copy times for pasting every compared city into an invite as plain lines, and a World Clock whose search covers every IANA zone, with starred favourites saved in this browser only.
It converts clock times only; for epoch seconds and ISO dates use the timestamp converter.
How to Use the Time Zone Converter
- Set the Date and Time, or press Use current time.
- Choose its zone under From Time Zone: New York for Eastern Time, Mumbai / New Delhi for IST.
- In Compare Zones, remove cities with the bin icon and add others with the plus button in the World Clock.
- Search the World Clock for a city or zone such as Lima or Europe/Madrid, and star favourites.
- Tick 24-hour clock if you prefer it, then press Copy times to paste the result into an invite.
The countdown timer can count down to your meeting, and the calendar generator prints a calendar to mark the date.
Who Can Use It
- Remote teams and organisers picking a meeting time that works in several cities.
- Travellers checking the local time at a destination, or the time at home.
- Families and friends abroad deciding when it is a sensible hour to call.
Travelling? The speed calculator gives journey time, the temperature converter converts forecast temperatures and the currency converter converts spending money.
FAQs
How do I convert a time from one time zone to another?
Enter the date and time, pick their zone under From Time Zone, and add the cities to compare. Each row shows the converted time, date, UTC offset and hour difference. For example, 9:00 AM in New York on 28 October 2026 is 1:00 PM in London and 10:00 PM in Tokyo.
Does the time zone converter account for daylight saving time?
Yes. It uses your browser’s built-in IANA time zone database, so each offset is the one in force on the date you pick, not today’s. On 28 October 2026, 9:00 AM in New York is 1:00 PM in London because the UK has left summer time and the US has not; on 2 November it is 2:00 PM.
What happens if I pick a time that daylight saving skips?
When clocks spring forward, times such as 2:30 AM do not exist that day. The converter shows a notice and moves the time forward by the length of the jump, so 2:30 AM becomes 3:30 AM, as calendar apps do. In New York this next happens on 14 March 2027.
Why do some places have offsets like UTC+5:30 or UTC+5:45?
Most zones differ from Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) by whole hours, but some countries chose half-hour or quarter-hour offsets. India uses UTC+5:30, Nepal UTC+5:45, Iran UTC+3:30 and South Australia UTC+9:30, or UTC+10:30 in its summer. The converter shows these exactly, so Mumbai 10:00 AM is Kathmandu 10:15 AM.
What is the difference between UTC and GMT?
UTC is the international time standard kept by atomic clocks, and every zone is an offset from it. GMT is mean solar time at Greenwich and the UK’s winter time. Both are UTC+0, so for scheduling they are equal, though the UK is on UTC+1 in summer.
Is the world clock live, and is anything sent to a server?
The world clock updates every second from your device clock, so it is only as accurate as your device’s time setting. Nothing is sent to a server: conversions use your browser’s own time zone database, and starred favourites stay in this browser’s local storage. You can check the Network tab in DevTools: converting makes no request.
