Summary
A contract generator turns the names, dates, scope and fees you type into a finished agreement you can print or sign. To make a contract free and privately here, click Non-Disclosure Agreement, Freelance Contract or Service Agreement, type both parties’ names, the agreement date, the purpose or scope and how long it lasts, add fees and governing law if you want them, then click Print / Save as PDF, Copy text or Download .txt. The preview updates as you type, and an empty party, date, purpose, duration or governing-law field prints as a blank line to fill in by hand.
The generator runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded (you can check the Network tab in DevTools). The clauses are fixed plain-language templates, not legal advice, so have a qualified lawyer review the contract before you rely on it.
Use the NDA when one side is about to share confidential information, the Freelance Contract for a one-off project, and the Service Agreement for work that repeats, such as monthly bookkeeping. Once the work is agreed, bill it with the invoice generator and confirm payment with the receipt generator.
Table of Use: The Three Contract Types
| Contract | Parties | Fields you fill in | Terms built in |
|---|---|---|---|
| Non-Disclosure Agreement | Disclosing Party and Receiving Party | Purpose of disclosure; How long confidentiality lasts; Governing law | One-way confidentiality, four standard exclusions, return or destruction of materials on written request, no licence granted |
| Freelance Contract | Client and Freelancer | Scope of work; Duration; Fees (optional); Governing law | Invoices payable within 30 days, independent-contractor status, rights in the deliverables pass to the Client on full payment, 14 days’ written notice to end |
| Service Agreement | Service Provider and Client | Services provided; Duration; Fees (optional); Governing law | Renews for periods of the same length unless 30 days’ written notice is given, reasonable skill and care, no liability for indirect or consequential loss, either party may end it on written notice if the other’s material breach is not fixed within 30 days of notice |
Features
- Three contract types, each with its own clauses. Every type has seven clauses plus a final Governing Law clause, numbered 1 to 8 in the preview.
- Your answers are worked into the sentences. A full stop, comma or semicolon typed at the end of the purpose, duration, fees or governing-law field is trimmed, so a purpose such as “a joint venture.” does not produce a doubled full stop.
- Blank lines instead of gaps. An empty party, date, purpose, duration or governing-law field becomes a line (______________) for pen. An empty Fees field becomes “the fees agreed in writing”.
- Unambiguous dates. The Agreement date starts as today’s date on your device and is written like 5 October 2026, so a reader never has to guess between 05/10 and 10/05.
- Three ways out. Print / Save as PDF opens your browser’s print dialog with only the contract on the page. Copy text puts the whole agreement on the clipboard, and Download .txt saves it as non-disclosure-agreement.txt, freelance-contract.txt or service-agreement.txt. Both text outputs end with a Signature, Name and Date block for each party.
- No account, nothing stored. There is no sign-up, and the form is not saved between visits.
Limits: the clause wording cannot be edited inside the tool, there is no electronic signature, and there are only these three English-language templates. The NDA is one-way; a mutual NDA is a different document. After editing a copy in a word processor, compare the two versions with the text diff tool.
How to Use the Contract Generator
- Under Contract Type, click Non-Disclosure Agreement, Freelance Contract or Service Agreement.
- Under Parties, type each side’s full legal name. The two labels follow the type, for example Client and Freelancer.
- Under Details, check the Agreement date, then describe the job in Purpose of disclosure, Scope of work or Services provided, and set Duration (How long confidentiality lasts on the NDA).
- Optionally add Fees (Freelance Contract and Service Agreement only) and Governing law.
- Read the contract preview: it sits beside the form on wide screens and below it on narrow ones.
- Click Print / Save as PDF and choose “Save as PDF” as the destination, or use Copy text or Download .txt. Both parties sign and date, and each keeps a signed copy.
Tips before you sign
Use a company’s registered name. Describe the scope specifically enough that a stranger could tell what is and is not included, and write duration and fees unambiguously, such as “2 years” or “USD 2,000 per month”. If the fee needs tax added, work out the total with the VAT calculator, and if the parties are in different currencies, check the amount with the currency converter. Name the governing law, such as “England and Wales” or “the State of New York”, and use the date difference calculator to check how long a term or notice period really is.
Who Can Use It
Freelancers and their clients can agree scope, fees and ownership before work starts. Small businesses can put an NDA in place before sharing a plan or prototype, and bookkeepers, consultants and maintenance providers can set up a standing service agreement.
Around the contract: introduce yourself with a cover letter from the letter generator, hand over a business card, and show what you have done with the resume builder. After you save the signed PDF, the file hash calculator gives a SHA-256 fingerprint each party can compare to confirm they hold the identical file.
FAQs
How do I create a contract online for free?
Click Non-Disclosure Agreement, Freelance Contract or Service Agreement, then type both parties’ names, the agreement date, the purpose or scope of work and how long the agreement lasts. Add fees and governing law if you want them. The preview updates as you type; click Print / Save as PDF, Copy text or Download .txt. There is no sign-up and nothing is uploaded.
How do I write an NDA with this generator?
Click Non-Disclosure Agreement, name the Disclosing Party and the Receiving Party, then fill in the Purpose of disclosure and how long confidentiality lasts. The template is one-way: the Receiving Party must keep the information confidential, use it only for the stated purpose, and return or destroy it on written request. The usual exclusions are included, such as information that is already public.
How do I save a contract as a PDF?
Click Print / Save as PDF, then choose "Save as PDF" as the destination in your browser’s print dialog (on Windows, "Microsoft Print to PDF" also works). The form, buttons, navigation and footer are hidden, so the PDF holds only the contract and its signature lines. Your own browser creates the PDF; ZipConvert never sees it.
What should a freelance contract include?
A freelance contract should name the client and the freelancer, describe the scope of work, set the term, state the fees and the payment deadline, say who owns the finished work, and explain how either side can end the deal. The Freelance Contract here covers each of these: invoices payable within 30 days, ownership passing to the Client on full payment, and 14 days’ written notice to end it.
Is a contract made with a free contract generator legally binding?
A contract is binding when the parties agree to it and the requirements of the law that governs it are met, which differ between countries and states. These are plain-language templates, not legal advice. Have a qualified lawyer review the contract before you rely on it, especially for high-value work or if a court in another country might apply.
Can I edit the clauses of the contract?
Not inside the tool: the clause wording is fixed, and only the fields you fill in change. To change a clause, click Copy text or Download .txt, paste the contract into Word, Google Docs or any editor, and edit it there before you print and sign. The text diff tool can then show exactly what you changed.
What happens if I leave a field empty?
The contract prints a blank line (______________) in its place, so you can write the missing detail by hand, such as a date or the other party’s name. The exception is Fees on a Freelance Contract or Service Agreement: left empty, the contract says the Client pays "the fees agreed in writing" instead.
Is the information I type uploaded or stored?
No. The contract is assembled in your browser and nothing you type is sent to ZipConvert or anyone else; you can confirm this in the Network tab of DevTools. Nothing is saved either, so reloading the page returns the form to its defaults. Copy the text, download the .txt or print before you close the tab.
