Random number generator: any range, free and private
A random number generator picks numbers with no pattern, so every value in your range is equally likely. To get a number between 1 and 100 here, leave Minimum at 1 and Maximum at 100, leave How many at 1 and click Generate Numbers. For a list, raise How many (up to 10,000) and tick No repeats (unique numbers) when every number must differ. The Dice and Lottery buttons switch to a dice roller and a lottery picker.
It runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded (you can check the Network tab in DevTools). The numbers come from crypto.getRandomValues, the cryptographically secure generator built into browsers, not the predictable Math.random, and there is no sign-up.
Need random text instead of numbers? The random string generator makes letters and symbols, the password generator makes logins, the UUID generator makes unique IDs and the name generator makes random names to pair with your numbers.

Features
- Any range, negatives included. Minimum and Maximum can be anywhere from -1,000,000,000,000,000 to 1,000,000,000,000,000. If Minimum is larger than Maximum, the two are swapped for you.
- Up to 10,000 numbers per click, as integers or as decimals with 1 to 10 places. Decimals include both ends and keep trailing zeros.
- No repeats for unique numbers. If the range is too small, a message says how many different values exist. Order can be As drawn, Smallest first or Largest first.
- Forgiving input. You can type 2.5 or 2,5, 1,000 with a thousands separator, and Arabic-Indic or full-width digits. A "Drawn from" line states the exact range and step used.
- Copy and Download .txt. Copy gives a comma-separated list; Download .txt gives random-numbers.txt with one number per line.
- Dice mode: 1 to 100 dice with 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 20 or 100 sides, each roll shown, plus the total and its possible range. Six-sided dice are drawn as faces.
- Lottery mode: 1 to 20 distinct numbers from 1 up to as high as 999, plus 0 to 5 bonus numbers from a separate pool, sorted low to high, with five presets and a Copy numbers button.
The arithmetic behind the results, in plain terms:
- Integers: possible values = Maximum โ Minimum + 1, so 1 to 100 has 100 values and each has a 1-in-100 chance.
- Decimals: possible values = (Maximum โ Minimum) ร 10^places + 1, so 0 to 1 at 2 places has 101 values.
- Dice: N dice with S sides total between N and N ร S, so 2d6 runs from 2 to 12.
- Lottery: combinations = n! รท (k! ร (n โ k)!) for k numbers from n, times the bonus pool for single-bonus games. Powerball is 11,238,513 ร 26 = 292,201,338.
To turn odds such as 1 in 100 into a percentage, use the percentage calculator; for ratios of dice outcomes, the fraction calculator helps. If you drew with repeats allowed and want each value once, paste the one-per-line contents of the Download .txt file into remove duplicate lines, or draw again with No repeats ticked.
How to generate random numbers, step by step
- Choose a mode: Numbers, Dice or Lottery.
- In Numbers, type the Minimum and Maximum, then How many (max 10,000) and the Type, Integer or Decimal. For Decimal, set Decimal places.
- Tick No repeats (unique numbers) if no value may appear twice, and pick an Order to sort the list.
- Click Generate Numbers, or press Enter. Read the Drawn from line to confirm the range.
- Click Copy for a comma-separated list or Download .txt for one number per line.
- In Dice, enter the Number of dice (1โ100), choose the Sides per die and click Roll Dice.
- In Lottery, click a preset or set Numbers to pick, From 1 to, Bonus numbers and Bonus from 1 to, then click Draw Numbers.
As of October 2026 the presets follow these sources: Powerball per the Georgia Lottery, Mega Millions per the Delaware Lottery, EuroMillions per the Irish National Lottery and UK Lotto per The National Lottery. Lotto 6/49 is a generic 6-from-49 draw. Changes to EuroMillions have been proposed for autumn 2026, so check your operator before playing.
Who can use it
- Teachers choosing a pupil or a question number, or running a quick class game next to the countdown timer.
- Giveaway and raffle hosts drawing winners from numbered entries without picking favourites.
- Game masters and board-game players who need a d4 to d100 without carrying dice.
- Developers and testers who need random integers or decimals for fixtures and demos.
- Students sampling numbers to test an idea against the formulas above.
FAQs
How do I generate a random number between 1 and 100?
Leave Minimum at 1 and Maximum at 100, set How many to 1 and click Generate Numbers, or press Enter. Both ends are included, so 1 and 100 can come up, and each of the 100 values has the same 1-in-100 chance. Change the two limits to any other range, such as 1 to 6 or 1 to 1,000.
How random are the numbers, and is Math.random used?
Math.random is not used. The numbers come from crypto.getRandomValues, the cryptographically secure generator built into your browser, which is seeded by your operating system and is unpredictable in practice. Values are mapped onto your range with rejection sampling, which removes modulo bias, so every number in the range has exactly the same probability.
Can I generate random numbers without repeats?
Yes. Tick "No repeats (unique numbers)" and every number in the result is different, which suits raffles, picking winners or shuffling a numbered list. You can ask for at most as many numbers as the range holds: 1 to 10 gives at most 10 unique numbers. If you ask for more, a message says how many different values exist. It also works for decimals.
How do the decimal numbers work?
Choose Decimal and set Decimal places from 1 to 10. Every value with that many places between Minimum and Maximum is equally likely, both ends included, and trailing zeros are kept, so you see 2.50 rather than 2.5. You can type a decimal point or a comma, such as 2.5 or 2,5. The line "Drawn from" shows the range and step actually used.
Which lottery presets are included?
Lotto 6/49 (a generic 6 from 1โ49 draw), Powerball (5 from 1โ69 plus 1 from 1โ26), Mega Millions (5 from 1โ70 plus 1 Mega Ball from 1โ24), EuroMillions (5 from 1โ50 plus 2 Lucky Stars from 1โ12) and UK Lotto (6 from 1โ59). The last four follow their operators' published rules as of October 2026. Formats change, so confirm with your lottery operator before you buy a ticket.
Does a random lottery pick improve my chances of winning?
No. In a fair draw every combination has exactly the same chance, so no method of choosing numbers, random or personal, changes the odds. The picker only saves you the effort of choosing, and it never repeats a number within one draw. Treat it as a convenience rather than a strategy, and play only what you can afford to lose.
Can I use it to pick a raffle or giveaway winner?
Yes. Give each entry a number from 1 to the number of entries, set Minimum to 1, Maximum to that count and How many to the number of winners, and tick No repeats. The numbers are shown on your screen only. For an official prize draw, check the rules that apply where you run it, and keep a screenshot of the result.
