Text Case Converter: Change Text Case Free and Privately
A text case converter rewrites the capital letters in a piece of text to match a chosen style. This free text case converter turns pasted text into UPPERCASE, lowercase, Title Case, Sentence case, camelCase, PascalCase, snake_case, kebab-case, CONSTANT_CASE, aLtErNaTiNg, InVeRsE or Capitalize Words. Paste your text into Input Text, click one of the twelve buttons under Convert To, then press Copy or Download .txt to take the result from Output Text.
The conversion runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded; you can check the Network tab in your browser's DevTools while you click. Each conversion button reads the Input Text and leaves it unchanged, so you can try Title Case, then Sentence case, then camelCase and compare. To count length first, use the word counter or character counter.
Two behaviours are worth knowing before you start. Title Case capitalises every word, including small words such as "and" and "of", because it does not apply a headline style guide. Sentence case lowercases names and acronyms, because it cannot tell them from ordinary words. Both are quick to fix by editing the Output Text box, which accepts typing.

Text Case Converter Features
- Twelve case styles: UPPERCASE, lowercase, Title Case, Sentence case, camelCase, PascalCase, snake_case, kebab-case, CONSTANT_CASE, aLtErNaTiNg, InVeRsE and Capitalize Words.
- Unicode-aware: accented letters, Cyrillic and Greek change case correctly; scripts without capitals are left alone.
- Per-line programming cases: camelCase, PascalCase, snake_case, kebab-case and CONSTANT_CASE convert every line on its own, so a pasted list stays a list.
- Undo and Redo: they step through every conversion and also through your own typing in the Output Text box.
- Swap: moves the output into Input Text and the old input into Output Text, for chaining conversions.
- Line wrapping: Wrap "Quotes" and Wrap (Parens) surround every line, and Custom wrap adds any text you choose before and after each line (the defaults are <li> and </li>). Blank lines are wrapped too.
- Divide Sentences: starts a new line after every full stop, question mark, exclamation mark or ellipsis that is followed by a space, except after the abbreviations e.g., i.e., vs., Mr., Mrs., Ms., Dr., cf., approx. and fig., so "Dr. Smith" stays on one line.
- Live counts: characters, words and lines for both boxes.
- Copy, Download and Clear: Copy uses your clipboard and, if the browser blocks it, selects the output so you can press Ctrl+C or Cmd+C. Download .txt saves converted-text.txt. Clear empties both boxes and the undo history.
How camelCase, snake_case and kebab-case split your words
The programming cases first split each line into words. The split happens at spaces, hyphens, underscores, dots, slashes and other punctuation, and wherever letter case changes inside a name, so "helloWorld", "hello-world" and "HELLO_WORLD" all read as the words hello and world. Runs of capitals are handled as well: "XMLHttpRequest" splits into XML, Http and Request. Apostrophes inside a word are dropped, so "don't stop" becomes dontStop.
Acronyms are not preserved, because every word is rebuilt in a single style: "XMLHttpRequest" becomes xmlHttpRequest in camelCase, not xmlHTTPRequest. Title Case only capitalises the start of each whitespace-separated word, so "user-profile" becomes "User-profile".
How to Use the Text Case Converter
- Paste or type your text into Input Text. For variable or column names, put one name on each line.
- Click a style under Convert To. Hovering a button shows an example.
- Read the result in Output Text. Correct names, acronyms or small words by typing in that box.
- Use Undo and Redo to step between results, or Swap to feed the output back in as the next input.
- Optionally press Wrap "Quotes", Wrap (Parens), Divide Sentences, or fill Custom wrap: before each line and after each line and press Apply custom wrap.
- Press Copy or Download .txt, then Clear when you are finished.
Who Can Use the Text Case Converter
Developers rename variables, database columns and environment variables between conventions, then turn a title into a URL fragment with the kebab-case button or the dedicated slug generator. After renaming JSON keys, the JSON formatter checks the structure still reads well, and the text diff tool shows exactly which lines changed.
Writers and students rescue text that was typed with Caps Lock on, then tidy the paragraph with find and replace, remove empty lines or remove duplicate lines. Marketers format headlines and social posts, and list-makers can sort with sort lines alphabetically before converting. The lorem ipsum generator supplies placeholder copy to try the buttons on.
Text Case Converter FAQs
How do I change text to uppercase or lowercase online?
Paste your text into the Input Text box and click UPPERCASE or lowercase under Convert To. The result appears in Output Text straight away, and the Copy button puts it on your clipboard. Each button converts the Input Text rather than the previous result, so you can click several buttons in a row and compare the outputs without retyping anything.
What is the difference between Title Case, Sentence case and Capitalize Words?
Title Case capitalises the first letter of every word and lowercases the rest, so "the QUICK fox" becomes "The Quick Fox". Sentence case lowercases everything, then capitalises the first letter of each sentence or line and the word "I". Capitalize Words only raises the first letter of each word and leaves the other letters as typed, so "iPhone and NASA" becomes "IPhone And NASA".
Does Title Case keep small words like "and" and "of" in lowercase?
No. This converter capitalises every word, so "a tale of two cities" becomes "A Tale Of Two Cities". It does not apply AP, APA or Chicago headline rules. If your style guide wants small words in lowercase, click Title Case first, then edit those few words directly in the Output Text box before you copy it.
How do I convert camelCase to snake_case?
Paste the names into Input Text, one per line, and click snake_case. The tool splits each name where the letter case changes, so "userProfileId" becomes "user_profile_id" and "XMLHttpRequest" becomes "xml_http_request". It also splits at spaces, hyphens and dots. Click camelCase, PascalCase, kebab-case or CONSTANT_CASE instead to go the other way.
Does it work with accented letters and other alphabets?
Yes. Conversions use Unicode letter rules, so "élan vital" becomes "Élan Vital" in Title Case, and Cyrillic and Greek text change case correctly. Arabic, Hebrew, Chinese and other scripts without capitals keep their letters. snake_case, kebab-case and CONSTANT_CASE still join the words with an underscore or a hyphen, while camelCase and PascalCase run them together. Emoji and symbols stay in the letter-case styles but are dropped by the five programming cases, which keep only letters and digits.
Why did Sentence case lowercase names like London or NASA?
Sentence case cannot tell proper nouns from ordinary words, so it lowercases everything except the start of each sentence or line and the pronoun "I". After converting, correct names and acronyms directly in Output Text. A full stop followed by a space ends a sentence, except after abbreviations such as e.g., i.e., Mr. and Dr.
How do I change text case on my iPhone or Android phone?
Open this page in your phone browser, paste into Input Text, tap a Convert To button and tap Copy. If the browser blocks the Copy button, the tool selects the output for you and shows a hint, so you can use the phone's own Copy option. The button grid reflows to two columns on a narrow screen.
Is my text uploaded or stored anywhere?
No. Every conversion runs in your browser with JavaScript. Your text is not sent to ZipConvert or anyone else, and it is gone when you close or reload the tab. You can confirm this by opening the Network tab in your browser's DevTools and clicking a button: no request carries your text. There is no length limit either.
